The Walt Disney Company specializes in producing magical entertainment through films, theme parks, resorts, books, and shows. Over the years, they’ve produced a variety of famous fictional characters, such as Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, and Cinderella. The franchise has shaped many people’s lives, providing heartwarming experiences to individuals all around the world.

Intrigued by the nostalgic company and hoping to share his love of Disney, Sebastian Concepcion (11) founded the Disney Club, which is dedicated to all the magical things in the world of Disney. Meetings are held in room H116, Mr. Kenny Donovan’s class, every Friday. Here, many students enjoy the atmosphere of coming in to talk, interact with others, and take in some Disney knowledge as well.

“You learn Disney history, play games, watch content, and do activities that have to do with all things Disney,” said Concepcion.

Every meeting, Concepcion prepares something special for club goers to experience. His presentation topics range from Disney movie overviews to history lessons about amusement parks. Some of the presentations even focus on a specific fictional character and their unique traits or behaviors. Disney club members also tune in to watch content or do a fun activity.

“[It’s] awesome,” said Evan Lee (11). “You should come if you want to learn about Disney stuff, and this meeting [was] about ‘Zootopia.’ It was pretty cool.”

Being a long time fan of Disney, Concepcion wanted a place for people who also love the abstract works of the legendary company. The main outlook of the club is to have fun and bring in the world of Disney for everyone to see, whether you are a connoisseur or just someone looking forward to discussing Disney.

“I just want to have a club where people have fun through the magic of Disney,” said Concepcion.

Many of the club goers also share interests in their favorite films or shows from the Walt Disney Company. Open for anyone, many students come into the club to relax and catch up on the latest Disney news. Having produced countless films and media throughout its 100-year existence, there is a seemingly a limitless range of movies that many generations love. So much so, that there are too many to name off.

“Actually, I don’t know my favorite Disney movie,” said Daren Hsieh (11). “There’s too many good ones for me to choose.”

Going forward, Concepcion looks forward to spreading news about the Disney Club which is open for anyone to come in and join, even if you aren’t a Disney fanatic.
