Born from a passion for art and a desire to help others in the community, Art4Kids is a club that creatively gives back, specifically to children battling critical illnesses.
“With our club, we focus on supporting these children and bringing positivity to them,” Madelynn Tsai (9) said.
Art4Kids mainly focuses on making art for children who are hospitalized by hosting fun activities during their club meetings, such as painting canvases, making cards, and many other fun, artistic projects.
“This club strives to help children and truly believes in the importance of giving young children opportunities to explore their passions, like art,” Floria Cao (9) said.
Art4Kids also serves as an opportunity for students to earn service hours, serve others, and form relationships with people around the community. It is a chance for club members to bond with others who may share the same interests as themselves, and the club works to connect people together. This club curates a friendly, welcoming atmosphere during their meetings that allows everyone to truly enjoy working towards Art4Kids’ cause.
Art4Kids stands out as a club due to the way it allows students to help others in imaginative ways. For students who may not have the time or dedication needed for laborious volunteering, this club holds an alternative solution just as fulfilling. Art4Kids is an opportunity for others to do something impactful by doing something as simple as drawing, and it is a chance to do good that students should not overlook.
“I love Art4Kids because it is an amazing chance to give back to our community,” Madelynn Tsai (9) said. “Our officer board and club members are so supportive of our club and what it has to offer.”
Created and founded this year, the board of dedicated officers includes the president Kate Lee (9), vice president Tsai, secretary Eslyn Lu (9), treasurer Cao, UCC representative Ava Park (9), and social media manager Elisabeth Lee (11).
The creator of the club, Kate Lee, was first inspired to create Art4Kids from a friend of hers. Her friend found a way to help those around her while doing something that she enjoyed, which Lee could not help but want to do as well.

“I created Art4Kids as a passion project,” Lee said. “One of my hobbies includes art and I wanted to use that to help others around our community.”
The creation of the club, connecting passion together, stems back to the overall message Art4Kids presents: anyone can make a difference as long as they try.
This is evident in the undeniable accomplishments Art4Kids has achieved. The club was just founded this year but has already been successful in numerous fundraisers and toy drives, such as their Spooky Toy Drive in October and the care boxes they made for children in January.
For more information about the club and events in the future check out Art4Kids’ Instagram, @ahs.art4kids, or go to their meetings, which take place during lunch in room F108 on the third Wednesday of each month.
Overall, Art4Kids is a club that not only helps those in need, but also fosters a safe environment for those wishing to express their passions and talents. This club hopes to help children as well as send a message that even little actions can be greatly effective. If there is hard work and dedication, anything can be achieved.
“One thing I want people to get from my club is that you do not have to be great at something to make an impact,” Lee said. “You just have to have a goal in mind and a passion.”
