San Diego Football Club (FC) vs. Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC)

On Saturday March 29, LAFC lost their game against San Diego FC with a final score of 2-3. With both teams being in the Western Conference, this game could make or break each team’s individual standings within the league. Due to their win, San Diego FC remains in third place with a record of 3-2-1. LAFC remains in eighth place despite their loss and their record is now 3-0-3. Both of these teams are in the range to make the final series based on their rankings.

Even though these teams are nowhere near each other in rank, both teams brought the intensity which led to the score being so close. Overall, San Diego played a cleaner game with more possession, shots on goal, and passes. The main factor of the game that stood out though was the aggressiveness on both sides of the ball. San Diego had a total of 12 fouls with four yellow cards handed out. Los Angeles had less fouls and yellow cards though right before halftime, midfielder Igor Jesus was given a red card. This led to Jesus being ejected from the game and Los Angeles was forced to play with one less player for the remainder of the game since they are not allowed a replacement. This showcases the intensity of both teams and how they each fought for the win.

LAFC’s next major league game will be on Saturday, April 5 against Houston Dynamo at 5:30. San Diego’s next game will also be on Saturday, April 5 but it will be held at 7:30 against the Seattle Sounders.

Orlando City vs. LA Galaxy

On Saturday March 29, LA Galaxy lost their game against Orlando City with a final score of 1-2. In the Eastern Conference, Orlando City is now ranked seventh with a record of 3-1-2 following their win. LA Galaxy sank to thirteenth and their record is now 0-2-4. Orlando City has a solid chance of qualifying for the final series due to their placement. However, LA Galaxy is far from the qualifying placement which is at least ninth in their conference standings.

Throughout the match, both teams had similar statistics with almost even possession, passes and their accuracy. However, Orlando City did nearly better with their execution having more shots on goal which ultimately led to their win. LA Galaxy held their own scoring the first goal, but after halftime Orlando City made excellent adjustments which led to their win.

LA Galaxy’s next game will be on Saturday, April 5 at 1:30 where they will face Real Salt Lake. Orlando City’s next game is on the same day though it is at 4:30 and they will go against Philadelphia.
