On April 9, Ayala’s swim team celebrated, not only their victory against El Dorado but their class of 2025 seniors during their last home game.
Both the Junior Varsity (JV) and Varsity girls’ teams took the lead on their swim towards victory. The JV girls took a 94-point lead out of 154, and the Varsity girls’ team took a 102-point lead out of 170.
Continuing the winning spree, both the JV and Varsity boys swim teams sealed the overall team’s victory against El Dorado. While JV boys took a clear victory against El Dorado with a 134-point lead out of 179, the boys Varsity teams were neck to neck against each other, hoping to stride the closest to victory before the other.
Although close, the boy’s Varsity pulled through, coming in with a 95-75 point lead out of 170.

After the 50-freestyle events were over, the meet was paused for a celebration and senior spotlight, where their name, the school they committed to, intended major, and favorite swim memories were announced. The seniors who were celebrated include: Jacob Alatorre, Anais Ayala, Jacob Baty, Daniel Benson, Alyssa Camberos, Evan Chang, Zachary Chang, Reese Chen, Belinda Cheng, Peyton Choi, Bryant Huang, Chanel Janecek, Bella Jiminez, Isabella Le, Mckenzie Lemus, Molly Miller, Colin Mulqueen, Evelyn Naing, Natalee Navarro, Riley Ogilvie, Jamie Park, James Phan, Jazlynn Rojas, Ryan Shabinaw, Jaida Torres, and Selena Villafuerte.
In addition to the team’s victory, and their four years of swimming, seniors Belinda Cheng and Bryant Huang celebrated another victory. With the song “Die with a Smile” by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga playing, Cheng held a poster with the words “I Would Die With A Smile If You Said Yes 2 Prom”
Claiming the victory as his very own, Huang said “Yes, I will.”
On April 11, the Varsity Swim Team will be at Mount San Antonio College to, once again, claim more victories.
