Ayala Track and Field represents at Irvine Invitational

The Irvine ASICS Distance Carnival was hosted this year on Saturday, April 12 at Irvine High School. A handful of long-distance runners from Ayala attended and performed excellently during the meet, primarily in the 3200m event.

Phoebe Kim (10) won the entire competition for girl’s varsity with a time of 11:10.61, a personal record for her. For the Freshman and Sophomore girl’s races, Eslyn Lu (9) was the fastest from Ayala with 21st overall place and a 3200m time of 12:37.12.

On the boy’s side, with a new personal record of 9:32.25, Caesar Torres (12) got third overall in the 3200m, leading the boys. The front runner from Ayala for the boy’s Freshman/Sophomore race was Alain Paez (9) whose time was 10:58.10.

The next track meets are the Mount San Antonio relays this Friday, April 18, and a meet in Fullerton over the weekend.
