Our own Ayala High School conducted its much anticipated end-of-year Art Show on April 30 and May 1, showcasing the variety of talents across campus. From games to stamps and much more, the show was a vibrant display of creativity and hard work. The art show is an excellent way of celebrating the work of students from many different classes and seeing how talented the students of Ayala are.
The school exhibit took place from 8:35 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Ayala’s Library. This performance is not open to the general public but only to Ayala students and CVUSD staff, giving them a chance to see the work during school hours. With over a dozen groups showcasing their art, the show featured a wide range of mediums, from traditional drawing and painting to graphic design and digital art.
The groups involved in the art exhibition are as diverse as the variety of talents and interests in Ayala High School. Some of them include Art Fundamentals, Graphic Design, Drawing & Painting, AP Studio Art, AP 2D Design, Digital Imaging, Engineering, and many others. All of these groups have worked long and hard to showcase their best work, incorporating their own talents for the art show.
In addition to art clubs, other departments and clubs are involved in the show. American Sign Language, Business Management, Spanish 2, AP Spanish, English, Chinese Club, Community Art, Computer Science, and Psychology are all represented in the show. The pairing of these academic courses with artwork emphasizes the manner in which artwork can complement and intertwine with other areas.
The exhibition provided more than a visual display, it also provided interactive elements. Visitors could participate in hands-on activities, receive stamps, and engage with the work on another level. The interactive component provided visitors with the opportunity to connect with the work and the artists on a personal level, forming a sense of community and understanding of their creative process.
Ayala High School’s Fall end-of-year Art Show was proof of the power of art in education and its impact on the development of the students.
