The school year is back in full swing, with students crouched over their desks and stressed heads in their hands, the school air of school tampering moods, and groggy, hot afternoons. Amid all the chaos of adjusting back to the ideal high school schedule, excitement among students arose once again as Homecoming was just around the corner.

On September 12, Ayala held their annual Homecoming football game, commonly referred to as Friday Night Lights, and on September 13, there was the Homecoming Dance. With one of the first big events of the year, spirit and excitement from the students were showcased through their amazing, creative outfits. Here are some students who displayed their spirit for the week of September 8 to 12.

Magical Mirror Monday

To kick off the start of the week, doubles were seen everywhere you looked. Friends around campus coordinated their outfits to match one another, whether that meant matching pajamas, jerseys, or even costumes! Suddenly, walking through the halls felt more like seeing reflections of friends come to life.

True Scholar Tuesday

Seemingly one of the most popular spirit days of recent years, True Scholar Tuesday allowed all on campus to show off their “performative” and academic gear. As it’s based on the trends online, students on campus pulled up with their business casual gear, books, and a matcha in hand to bring the whole outfit together. With all these elements together, students and staff showed off their personality through their fun, excessive accessories.

Beast Mode Wednesday

This spirit day allowed for both students and staff to show off their pride in their favorite sports team, with their spirit pulsing with athletic energy. Jerseys and team gear filled the halls, each person showing a little bit more of their personality and competitive, sporty side with this attire.

Tale as Old as Time Thursday

This always fun spirit day took everyone on campus on a trip down memory lane with this throwback theme. Students and staff embraced the different decades of fashion, showing off their 90s looks or Y2K-inspired outfits straight out of the 2000s. Denim, vintage styles, and many other elements came together to create the throwback theme with a twist of modern fashion.

Forever Our School Friday

The best way to wrap up a school’s spirit week is to show spirit for your own school. Fortunately, Friday showed this appreciation for the school by having all those on campus wear Ayala-themed attire or USA colors to show off pride for both the school and the beloved country! This spirit thrived at Friday Night Lights later that day, with the crowds spread out with red, white, and blue.
