On September 9, Ayala’s Girls flag football played in their first league game, hosting the Bonita Bearcats, a game that, from start to finish, had the Bulldogs dominating with the final score being 20-0 for Ayala.
Ayala came out electric in the first quarter as Amaryn Silva (11) scored her first of two receiving touchdowns during the game, along with Ava Trujillo (10) also hauling in a touchdown of her own on an electric play that gave the Bulldogs an immense amount of momentum. These two scores gave Ayala a 13-0 lead by halftime.
After halftime, the Bulldogs struck again, finding Amaryn Silva (11) for her second receiving touchdown of the game, and after a successful extra point, it brought the score of the game to 20-0 with 10:05 remaining in the third quarter.
Ayala’s defense was a key contributor, making multiple big plays to keep the Bearcats scoreless through four quarters. Ultimately, Ayala captured the win 20-0.
Ayala’s next game will be this Saturday as a part of the La Rams Jamboree, and their next league game is next Tuesday at Claremont High School.
