Ayala secures fourth consecutive league win against Alta Loma

Ayala wins their fourth league match against Alta Loma high school by 28 strokes.

On April 11, Ayala Boys Varsity Golf played their fourth league tournament against Alta Loma High School at Los Serranos Country Club. The match was four hours, spanning from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and took place on the front nine holes of the North Course.

With the Bulldogs hoping to secure their fourth consecutive league victory and keep the successful streak going, they played well, earning the win against Alta Loma by 28 strokes. Ayala shot a 225, averaging 45 strokes per player (eight over par), while Alta Loma shot 253, averaging about 51 strokes (fourteen over par) per golfer. Senior Merrick Becerra and Freshman Jake Hirose of Ayala both earned medalist honors with their scores of 44, seven over par.

Coach Poland, the assistant coach of Ayala’s golf team said, “I’m proud of the boys…they’re playing really well this season and we have some solid juniors and a freshman in the varsity team.

The varsity golfers hope to continue undefeated league series in their next match against La Habra High School on April 12 at Los Serranos Country Club.
