As October rounded the corner, Ayala’s girls Frosh volleyball team made an unexpected, but thrilling, comeback on Tuesday in a rematch against Glendora’s Titans. The rematch was similar to the game that took place on September 12, both going to three sets and ending the game 2-1.
During the first set, the Bulldogs had begun slow, finally picking up speed after the first time-out. Ayala took the win with a score of 25-22.
However, the Titans quickly took the serve from Ayala, winning the first several points without allowing Ayala to score. The Bulldogs eventually caught up, in the end fighting to get to 25 first. Glendora ultimately won, ending with a Titan victory of 25-21.
With the standings at 1-1, both schools were determined to finish the game. In the end, Ayala’s girls secured the win, ending the game 15-11.
Previously 5-0, the Titans had gone undefeated since the beginning of league, also beating Ayala during a game at the Bulldog’s gym on September 12. However, the Bulldogs came back stronger to break their record during the rematch. The Bulldogs, who had been standing at 4-1, are now tied first place with the Titans with a record of 5-1.
