On October 23, Ayala Varsity Flag Football went up against Martin Luther King High School in the first round of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF).
Ayala Flag Football was overall successful, as they had an eventful and lively finish to their season. Varsity finished with an overall score of 19-9 in their games. In their league, the Bulldogs finished 3-3 and are now ranked 140 in California.
During their first CIF round, Ayala put up a good fight. Unfortunately, King High School ultimately won in the end.
Although Ayala didn’t move onto the next CIF round, they managed to have a great inaugural season with many memorable highlights.

![“I'd say [this season was] successful because I didn't really think I was going to really play much because I'm a freshman. But my coaches took the time and believed in me,” Jonah Boyd (9) said. As a freshman, Boyd has already achieved great success during his first year on the boys Varsity baseball team.](https://ayalabulldogtimes.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/IMG_1598-1.jpeg)
