On Tuesday, January 14, girls Varsity soccer lost their game against the Claremont Wolfpack with final score of 2-4. This sets Ayala’s overall record at 8-6-1 and they are ranked 3rd in the league with a record of 2-2. Claremont’s record overall is now 6-2-4 and they are ranked 2nd in the league as their record is 1–0-2.
In the first half of the game, both teams rose to the challenge as they were close in rank. This means that the result of this game could determine if they rose or fell on the leader board. Claremont was able to score two goals during the duration of this half, whereas Ayala was only able to score one. At halftime, the score was 1-2, with Claremont in the lead.
The second half was almost an exact replica of the first half as both teams scored the same number of goals but the factor that changed was the intensity that both teams brought to the match. However, Claremont took the win with a final score of 2-4.
Ayala’s next game will be Thursday, January 16 at 5:30 against Bonita and it is a home game being played in the stadium. Claremont’s next game will be on Thursday, January 16 as well against Diamond Bar.
