On Tuesday, January 21, girls Varsity soccer tied their game against Glendora with a final score of 2-2. Ayala’s record is now 9-6-2 overall, and ranked third in league, their record is now 3-2-1. Glendora’s overall record stands at 6-5-3 and placed second in league, their record is 3-1-1. This was the second match of the season between the two teams, with Glendora winning 2-1 previously.
Going into this match, Ayala was eager to prove themselves following the loss against Glendora earlier in the season. Whereas, Glendora needed to secure their spot in the league rankings as Ayala trailed closely behind them and a loss would cost them. Similar to any other game, both teams came in hungry for the win as this game could change everything for either team. Ayala had the home field advantage with the game being played at their stadium. However, both teams fell short as neither one was able to get above the other and as a result, the game ended in a tie of 2-2. As a neutral result, this game did not harm or benefit either team in rankings and they remain in their places.
