On Thursday, January 23, girls soccer won their game against Walnut with a score of 5-0. This raises Ayala’s record to 10-6-2 overall, and they are now 4-2-1 in league. Walnut’s overall record is now 10-8-1, and they are 1-4-1 in league. Ayala stays ranked third in league, and Walnut remains in fifth.
Going into the match, this was the second and as of now last time these two teams will play against each other. Previously, Ayala won 3-0 and this game was a chance for Walnut to redeem themselves. Ayala accepted the challenge and locked down on Walnut, not allowing any goals on their home turf. In the first half, Ayala scored two goals and came back even harder in the second half to score an additional three goals. At the end of the game, Ayala came off victorious with a 5-0 win.
