As the crowds of people cheered and laughed, the story finally reached its end. Rounds of actors came out from the curtains and gave their final bow as the show concluded. From Thursday, November 23, to Saturday, November 25, the Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon was put on by the Ayala Theater company. This one-of-a-kind story was performed as a play with a wonderful cast and crew that put all their love and effort into making the show, and still created a beautiful community within one another.

The production has been in the works for quite a while, but finally, when put onto the stage, it came out beautifully. Most of the show itself was filled with lots of humor and energy, and even before the production was shared on stage, this feeling was spread throughout the cast and crew. With this feeling of excitement and thrill, others enjoyed themselves much more while working on the production.

“The show was full of wild twists on classic fairy tales, so every rehearsal felt exciting,” Brielle Pangan (11) said. “I really enjoyed seeing how everyone brought their characters to life and how the stories connected together in unexpected ways.”

Not only was this show a one in a lifetime experience that brought energy, community and excitement to all, but it was able to teach others the importance of each part. This show highlights the fact that no part is better than another, and symbolizes that each character and crew member helps to make the show as beautiful as can be.

“This show taught me stories and fairytales that the Brothers Grimm wrote in a high school setting. It was fun and educational,” Eliana Gonzalez (10) said. “It also taught me that each part of a show is equally as important because without the crew, there would be no stage, and without cast, there would be no performance.

The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon was not only a once-in-a-lifetime experience for those who worked on it but all of the amazing supporters who came to watch the show. Many people enjoyed the characters of the show because the way they were played was much different than what the audience expected.

“The briefness of the actors was actually refreshing in the show because they acted like real people,” Allison Tse (10) said. “It was really amazing, especially since the actors were acting as actors on stage, and it’s especially impressive because these actors and actresses are only in high school.”

Now that the Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon is over, it is a show that will be missed by audiences, cast, and crew members. The show was filled with excitement, energy, joy, and community.
