Healthy baked goods that will leave you feeling ready for any part of your day

I love my sweets just as much as the next person, but sometimes it can just be too much. All of the processed sugar, artificial dye, gluten, and preservatives in all of this delicious food just can’t always be enjoyed without the sacrifice of not feeling your best. But if you are still interested in having some healthy sweet treats that satisfy your sweet tooth, there are some great alternatives out there. If you have seen me around campus, then you have definitely seen my assortment of snacks that I am always eating and talking about. Today, I wanted to share my favorite foods with you so you can make them in your own home too!
Oatmeal Banana PB Chocolate Chip Cookies
Easily one of my staples for a quick morning treat. If you don’t like a heavy breakfast, then this is perfect for you. It is a perfect mix that settles your stomach in the morning leaving you full until lunch time but also aids your sweet tooth with a few bites of chocolate chips. Including protein powder in the mix is still a great way to hit your goals as well. The entire process to make these delicious cookies is less than 30 minutes and can easily be done on Sunday night to last you the rest of the school week.
This is a super light snack that only has a few ingredients that are really great for you! Chia seeds, almond milk, and a splash of honey are all you need. This is a great late night snack that will satisfy all your cravings. If you add some fruit like blackberries or raspberries on top, this could be a great option for you when you are on the go. If you are looking for a healthier dessert at night, this hits just the right stop. It always keeps me going if I have to stay up late doing homework, or between my volleyball games. Chia has lots of fiber so it will definitely help with gut health as well.
Tired of eating so much bread with all of that gluten that leaves you feeling bloated for the rest of the day? This is the perfect solution! This entire recipe makes the best mini bagels made only with Greek yogurt and self-rising flour. My favorite part about the entire recipe is that I can use my iconic bottle of ‘Everything but the Bagel’ seasoning from Trader Joe’s to top it all off. Even though the recipe calls for an egg to put the seeds on top of the bagel, I would hold off on it. Sometimes with the egg it turns out a little too eggy, but without it, the crisp and fluffy dough is just perfect. Add any spread or even make a little breakfast sandwich to start your day off on the right foot.
The BEST muffins ever! These are fantastic with a cup of coffee in the morning, or for a quick midday bite. These fluffy muffins will also help you reach your protein goals for the day. Each bite is filled with a hint of vanilla and coconut. Even though they do take a little while to prepare, you can make more than one dozen per batch so they do last quite a long time. If you decide to microwave your muffins a few days after you bake them, the blueberries will still taste like they are warm and fresh straight out of the oven. I love to eat these before practice or throughout my day for a quick energy boost.
These sweet snacks are bound to get you through the day without the sacrifice of your own health. Most healthy treats typically get a bad reputation for their lack of flavor and looks, but this is just not the case! Trust me on this, try making these recipes over the weekend to set the rest of your week up for success.
