Ayala wins match by staggering 42 strokes against La Habra

Ayala wins match against La Habra by 42 strokes, bringing their non-league season to an end.

On Wednesday, April 12, Ayala Boys Varsity Golf competed in a non league match against La Habra High School. The teams played from 2:55 pm – 6:00 pm at their home course, the South Course of Los Serranos Country Club. 

Hoping to continue their winning streak, the Bulldogs started and ended the match strong, scoring a 218 which averaged to about 44 (+7) strokes per player. On the other hand, La Habra scored a 260, averaging over a bogey round of 52 strokes per player. The Bulldogs easily secured the victory by 42 strokes. Parker Gorospe (11), a well developed golfer on the varsity team, led the Bulldogs to their victory and earned the medalist score of 40, three over par.

La Habra Varsity: 260 | approx. 52 per player

With the varsity non league matches coming to an end for the 2023 season, the Bulldogs switch gears as they begin to fully focus on league matches to work towards earning the spot of 2023 Palomares League champions.
