Ayala Varsity Golf moves to tie for first in league after win

Ayala Varsity golf wins their match against Colony by a staggering 50 strokes and moves to first place in league

On Wednesday, April 26, Ayala Boys Varsity Golf played in a league match against Colony High School in an away game at the front nine of Whispering Lakes Golf Course.  

After past episodes of beating Colony by many strokes, the Bulldogs continued in that direction and claimed another league victory by an astounding 50 strokes. Ayala shot a 209, averaging 42 strokes per player while Colony shot a 259, averaging about ten strokes more that the Bulldogs per player. It was a simple, yet important win as Ayala moved into a two-way tie with Claremont High School in the league leaderboard. 

Alex Figueroa (12), the co-captain of the boys golf team shot a +1 score of 37, with a bogey on the last hole.

“Way to go Alex!”, Coach Capps said.

Ayala Varsity: 209 | approx. 42 strokes per player

Colony Varsity: 259 | approx. 52 strokes per player

After this successful match, the Bulldogs will compete against Glendora High School in a home match at Los Serranos Country Club in Chino Hills on Thursday, April 27, at 3:05 pm. They will need to win this match in order to stay at first place in the league. Good Luck Bulldogs!
