Girls varsity basketball secures close win against Titans

In yet another matchup against Colony High School, the familiar matchup ended in a familiar result, with a win on Wednesday lifting spirits for their upcoming game tomorrow, January 26.

Girls varsity basketball won against the Colony Titans 51-47 in a close and intense matchup at the Titans’ home court. The Bulldogs, tied close to the end of the fourth quarter, secured two points, plus an extra foul and free throws with close to 20 seconds left in the game. The game ended, with Ayala as the winner, putting their close-to-end-of season record as 3-4 and their overall record as 10-14.

The Titans’ loss changes their league record to 1-6 and their overall record as 11-14. Girls varsity faces the Bonita Bearcats next at home on Friday 26, and the Colony Titans face the Claremont Wolfpack on Friday 26 as well. Come to support the girls varsity basketball’s last few games of their season!

This is her first year as part of the Bulldog Times staff and she is excited to challenge herself with new writing techniques and learning about different interviewing styles she can use when preparing for writing an article. David Jung (10) is a writer for the Bulldog Times, and this is his 1st year on staff. David hopes to write articles for future members to read and for them to write stories that will surpass his own. He looks forward to seeing how the process will work out and seeing all members in action. He is also part of the Ayala Tennis team, being in J.V . In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, listening to music, making model kits, reading all kinds of books, eating many sweets, and taking good naps (if he can in the first place).
