Yesterday, Ayala’s girl’s frosh, Junior Varsity (JV), and Varsity volleyball teams dominated Claremont’s wolf pack. Although Varsity faced a small challenge in the beginning of the season, the team is beginning to gain back their momentum.
Guaranteeing a flawless victory, girl’s Frosh scored 25-10 on the first set. During the second set, the Bulldogs had a rough start, but later came back strong with a final score of 25-11.
The girl’s JV finished their first set with ease, scoring a 25-8. During the second set, the Bulldogs fell ten points short, but eventually regained their lead, scoring a final score of 25-17.
Although both frosh and JV won with ease, Varsity had a harder time gaining the win. Bulldogs, neck to neck with the wolf pack, was at the final set after scoring 25-33 on the first set, 17-25 on the second, 26-24 on the third, and 15-24 on the fourth. Even though the pressure was high, Varsity still managed to pull through, scoring a final score of 19-17.
Ayala girl’s volleyball team will have a rematch against Glendora High School on Tuesday, October 1.
