A dream can be a soft, hazy hug after a long day, or a hope held close to one’s heart. They take many forms and have varying degrees of attainability, but they are the cornerstone of the human experience. An exploration of these ideas yields many creative interpretations.

The Bulldog Times is proud to share some of these renditions and the winners of the Multimedia Contest! A big thanks goes out to everyone who participated, making the last contest of the year truly special. Without further ado, here are some talented pieces of art for your viewing.

“Dreaming in Circles” by Macy Chen (9)

“It gives textures and dimension, as well as patterns throughout the whole piece. It deserves to be recognized because you can automatically tell that the person spent countless hours trying to perfect it, and gives purpose to the piece,” staff writer, Manushri Patel (10), said.

“The piece itself captures the randomness and whimsy that fills your dreams at night. With each of the intricate colors that fill the landscape around the fish it makes an illusion that fish are swimming closer to the void that fills the center,” staff writer, Nicholas Tovmasyan (10) said.

“Light in Dreams” by Celeste Guerrero (10)

“It creatively represents the concept of ambition and manifestation. Each lantern with dreams inside of them is being handed off and lit by a blue light, showing people’s connection to their dreams and wishful thinking,” staff writer, Alexa Corpuz (10), said.

“This painting is very unique and elegant as the details of it are wonderful. The camp fire set up on the left side to the right side with a tree and chairs set up, it shows a unique perspective of life,” staff writer, Camilo Carmona (11), said.
