On Thursday, April 13, Ayala Boys Varsity competed in an away league match against Alta Loma High School. The two teams played at Alta Loma’s home course, San Dimas Canyon Golf Course from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

Despite the harsh conditions of wind and rain, Ayala kept their winning streak by scoring 217. With the Bulldogs averaging an under-bogey round with 43 strokes per player, Merrick Becarra led the team with a +4 score of 40. Alta Loma lost by 6 strokes, scoring a 223 and averaging over a bogey round with about 46 strokes per golfer. Even though the margin was close, the Bulldogs pulled through the irregular environment and managed to secure their fourth consecutive league victory.

“Although Alta Loma put up a good score, it wasn’t quite enough to keep the Bulldogs down,” said Coach Capps, the head coach of Ayala’s golf team.

Hoping to keep their streak going and secure the title of Palomares League Champions, Ayala will compete in their next match against Bonita High School in an away game at Marshall Canyon Golf Course in La Verne.
