On Wednesday, April 19, Ayala Boys Varsity Golf played in their sixth league match against Claremont High School. The teams competed at Marshall Canyon Golf Course in La Verne, Claremont’s home course, from 2:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

Despite their good efforts, Ayala lost their second league match by only eight strokes to Claremont. With less than a bogey round and a score of 209, averaging about 42 strokes (+7) per player, the Bulldogs were unable to surpass Claremont’s lower score of 201, an average of 40 strokes (+5) per golfer.

“Freshman Jake Hirose led the Bulldogs for the 2nd straight match with his score of 39 [+4],” said Coach Capps.

Scores:

Ayala Varsity: 209 | approx. 42 strokes per player

Claremont Varsity: 201 | approx. 40 strokes per player

Unfortunately, this match marked another loss in the Bulldog’s league season. Hoping to secure their fifth league match, the varsity golfers will compete in a home match against Claremont on Thursday, April 20. It will take place at Los Serranos Country Club in Chino Hills.
