Ayala varsity golf barely wins their league match by one stroke and stay at first place in league

On Tuesday, April 25, Ayala Boys Varsity Golf competed in a league match against the Glendora Tartans. The teams played the front nine of Glendora Country Club, the Tartans’ home course, from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

Hoping to stay in their T1 position in the Palomares League, Ayala needed to win this match. After three and a half hours of golfing, the boys handed their scorecards to the coach and anxiously waited for the final score: 217 to 218. The Bulldogs won their league match by one stroke. Ayala and Glendora both averaged about 43 strokes per player, but in the end, the Bulldogs pushed past the Tartans by a margin and secured the victory.

Congratulations to Lawrence Chen (11) who led the Bulldogs with a score of 41 on the front nine.

Scoreboard:

Ayala Varsity: 217

Glendora Varsity: 218

Ayala’s next league match will be an away game against Colony High School at Whispering Lakes Golf Course in Ontario. They will play the front nine on Wednesday, April 26, and hope to win yet another match to stay in first place in the league.
