Boys Varsity Golf earns seventh place at Homer Thomas Invitational

On April 7, Boys Varsity Golf played against Riverside Polytechnic High School at the Homer Thomas Invitational. The tournament was hosted at Riverside Poly’s home course, Victoria Cross Country Club in Riverside from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

The Bulldogs came into the match with high hopes, however, the Bears pulled through and won the invitational by 17 points. Ayala shot a total of 410, averaging 82 on eighteen holes, coming in seventh place, while Riverside shot 383, averaging 76 on a par 72 course. 

Ayala: 410 | 82/player

Riverside: 383 | 71/player

Riverside’s own Sam Bonzoumet (12) shot a low -2 round of 70 to take Medalist Honors.

Ayala’s Jake Hirose (11) took the Hole #5 Closest to the Pin prize of 1 Dozen TP5 golf ball with a shot that read 0-feet, 6-inches from the cup.

The Bulldogs’ next match will be today at La Mirada against La Habra High School. They are looking to secure yet another win this season.
