With another exciting Major League Baseball (MLB) season under way, fans of their favorite teams are getting a preview of how their teams will look to pan out this season based off the first 30 or so games. There are most definitely some surprises of teams that possibly could have been on this top five list, like the Mets or Phillies, but due to some very rough starts they are currently sitting at the bottom of the MLB standings. But for these four teams, there seasons have begun on the right track, and they will now look to build off of these strong starts.

1. Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers, you either hate them or love them. The back to back world series champions only got stronger this offseason adding pieces like closer Edwin Diaz and right fielder Kyle Tucker. Obviously with stars like Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and Mookie Betts in the lineup, most would assume these guys would be the Dodgers best hitters to start the season. Although they have been great, its been none of them that have had the start as one player, Andy Pages. Pages already has thirty six hits, twenty five runs batted in (RBI), along with a three twenty one batting average. This trend has also begun in the pitching aspect for the Dodgers, with guys such as Blake Snell recovering from injury, the Dodgers have been forced to rely on another unlikely player. Justin Wrobleski in his four games started so far this season has four wins, a impressive one point fifty earned run average (ERA), along with thirteen strikeouts. Once the Dodgers get to full strength due to a good amount of injuries they currently have, they will only continue to dominate even more, as they look to defend their back to back titles.
2. Atlanta Braves
The Braves did not have the season they would have hoped to have last season, as they finished under five hundred and did not make the playoffs for the first time since 2017. But to begin this season, the teams bats have been on fire. Matt Olson currently leads the team with eleven home runs, being just of many productive hitters the Braves have with guys such as Ronald Acuna Jr, Ozzie Albies, and Drake Baldwin. The twenty five year old catcher Baldwin has been notably very comfortable at the plate with eight home runs, twenty nine RBI’s, and a nine hundred thirteen On Base Plus Slugging (OPS). On the pitching side, veteran Chris Sale continues to dominate on the bump posting a 2.14 ERA and having a strong 6-1 record to start off the season. Fellow starter Bryce Elder has also been solid posting a 1.88 ERA himself so far this season. With a balanced attack on the bump and at the plate, the Braves will surely look to build off of their hot start so far this season.
3. New York Yankees
Unlike the other New York team, the Yankees have gotten off to a strong start this season thanks some big time hitting. With superstar outfielder Aaron Judge leading the charge so far for the Yankees with twelve home runs, it is hard to ignore what his teammate has also been doing for the team. First baseman Ben Rice, has been the teams dark horse so far this season with his impact he has made so far at the plate. Rice has eleven home runs, twenty six RBI’s, and a team leading thirty five hits. Similar to the Dodgers own Andy Pages, these guys have both been able to be productive in a lineup full of known superstar players. Along with the hitting, the Yankees have also had solid pitching with ace Max Fried leading the charge. But, rising young star Cam Schlittler has also quickly made a name for himself once more coming off a great rookie season. Schlittler currently holds a 1.51 ERA along with a league leading 0.74 Walks and Hits Per Inning Pitched (WHIP) so far this season, which has contributed a huge amount to the Yankees success. The Yankees will look to continue their success after a tough end to last season.
4. Chicago Cubs
The Cubs are always a team that is in the mix of being one of the top teams in all of the MLB. To start this season it has been no different. In the offseason, they acquired star third baseman Alex Bregaman to a five year 175 million dollar deal to bolster a already solid batting lineup. Fast forward to now, the Cubs bats have been on fire with guys such as Nico Hoerner, Alex Bregman, and Ian Happ leading the team in hits. Overall, the team has a very balanced offensive attack which helps them be successful getting runs on the board. On the pitching side of things, the Cubs starters have been solid as they are led by Shota Imanaga who currently holds a 2.40 ERA. The most impressive thing about this Cubs team so far this season, has been their ability to overcome the injuries to their bullpen. A player like Ben Brown has been able to be productive for the short handed Cubs bullpen. Even with this, the Cubs have still been able to piece together a strong start to the 2026 campaign.
