The feeling of opening a bag of sunflower seeds, taking a bite of a hot dog, or crunching a nacho while watching your favorite sports team is like no other. One problem is that the prices for any of these items have seemingly only grown and are now outrageous at any stadium or arena you enter. On top of this, most sporting events do not allow outside food, which seems to be a part of the schemes the stadiums use to force spectators to purchase and pay the outrageous prices of items.
For example, at this year’s past Super Bowl, an order of a regular water bottle with a meal such as chicken tenders and fries would run you $26 without tax. The game even included an “LX Burger,” which was worth $180.00, with the burger weighing 3.5 pounds as it was meant to feed four people. With get-in prices for the Super Bowl being thousands of dollars, it is hard to imagine one wanting to burn an even bigger hole in their pocket by purchasing food. But, many still do as it is part of the game, and with zero allowance for outside food, fans will pay those steep prices.
Another thing about sporting events is the possible memorabilia you can buy at team shops across the stadium. With fans who may not always be fortunate enough to attend the sporting events multiple times, they feel the need to buy the newest items with an understanding that they may not be back soon. Along with this, items may be listed as “game exclusive” or “limited time drop,” which urges fans to buy these items right then and there. At times, fans buy these items to sell on the secondary market because of the limited amount that is released at the stadium. The fans understand that they can get a good amount for these items and possibly get the money back from what they spent on tickets. The only downside to this is that those who would love to buy the item to wear or to keep are usually overruled by resellers.
Most notably, the tickets themselves at sporting events are also very expensive. This may vary depending on sports, but overall, ticket prices have only grown, especially for the biggest of games. If you would like to attend a championship game for any of the major sports, you would likely find yourself paying an insane amount of money just to sit at the top of the stadium. For example, this past Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series ticket prices spanned anywhere from $700 up $5,000 for seats.
This has led to fans attempting to find other ways to experience and watch the game as if they were truly there. To try to solve this problem, COSM Los Angeles is a place that recently opened, which has become very popular as a place to watch the biggest sporting events. COSM Los Angeles contains an 87-foot-diameter screen that allows fans to feel as if they were at the game. This allows fans to connect with those around them and still get that same atmosphere as if they were attending the game. Ticket prices are much more affordable at times, which is another huge reason why attending COSM should be a place to consider when watching your next sporting event.
Overall, sports games have seemingly gotten more and more expensive as time goes on and likely will continue to do so. But people should take full advantage of a place like COSM for the next sporting event of their choice if they still love to get that same fan experience as if they were at the game themselves. No matter what, you can still enjoy sports however you would like.
