On December 2, the girls Varsity soccer team kicked off their long-awaited winter season with a 5-1 win against Montclair High School’s Cavaliers.

Ayala’s offense was relentless, the Bulldogs scoring four goals in the first half alone. However, it was their solid defense that was especially noticed as they refused to give the Cavaliers a single goal. Halftime ended 4-0 for Ayala.

While going into the second half hopeful, the Bulldogs only scored one point against Montclair. The Cavaliers were also able to score a goal, but were unable to win any more by the time the second half ended. This left the overall score at 5-1, again in favor of the Bulldogs.

Though this game against the Cavaliers was only one of the many to come, the Bulldogs’ win has secured an air of excitement and anticipation for a hopeful season. The success is looking to be carried into their next game at home against the Los Osos Grizzlies next Wednesday on December 10.
