Homecoming is one of the biggest nights of the year for the bulldogs, and as the years go on, the coordinators work harder and harder to make homecoming better than the year before. “I feel like every year is gonna be a little bit better just because we learn from experiences we learn from the past becoming a thing,” Alina Lopez (10) said. “Considering we do have a new vendor, I think it’ll be a good change.”

The 2023-2024 homecoming festivities, which took place on Saturday, October 7, has come to an end after a fun night filled with games, dancing, and delicious desserts along with an announcement of this year’s homecoming court.

This year, there was a new variety of  food that was previously not available at last year’s homecoming, adding to the new additions made in order to improve this year’s homecoming. Desserts ranged from cupcakes to donuts, snacks including kettle corn and cotton candy, and refreshments of water and lemonade were made available to students.

Aside from the variety of food and beverages, there were many different activities for students to choose from. Spanning from inflatable games to karaoke to a room of flashing lights where the students could dance the night away to their favorite songs, the students stayed thoroughly entertained throughout the night.

All of this was done with the help of All Star vendors, which was hired by the school to decorate the dance for all of the students to enjoy.

“It looked like a professional company would design it and I felt like that added more theme and more variety and color,” Tarin Ladhawala (9) said.

The students also had a chance to recognize their peers through homecoming court. The nominees and winners of the senior homecoming court were announced during the homecoming football game on the Friday prior, October 6, while the junior, sophomore, and freshman homecoming court nominees and winners were announced during the homecoming dance on Saturday October 7.

“All of [the nominees] were picked by the students so I definitely feel like they all deserve it,” Alina Lopez (10) said.

Once homecoming court was announced, they all shared a slow dance together as some of the other students joined in with their own dates and friends.

“I feel like it’s really exciting to be [on court],” Hailey Place, last year’s homecoming princess of the class of 2026 said. “Just be excited and have fun, but also don’t be so cocky about it, keep it on a low.”

Homecoming is one of the most extravagant events of the year for students, and it’s one of the few times where everyone is allowed to dress up to impress their friends and dates. The coordinators definitely did not let anyone down with the beautiful decorations, various activities such as games, dancing, photo booth, and karaoke.
