Ayala Varsity Football falls to Charter Oak

The Bulldogs were knocked off their streak following Friday’s league challenge as the Chargers of Charter Oak invaded on the field. As the 1st quarter begins, Ayala kicked off to Charter Oak, lighting the fire for yet another intense matchup. 

From Charter Oak, #82 Marcus Gibbens kicks off a 42 yard field goal scoring first blood with 3-0 in the box score. Again from Charter Oaks side, #13 Zakkarii Black manages a rushing touchdown of 2 yards. The Chargers are now 9-0 with the Bulldogs. With the end of the 1st quarter closing in, Ayala makes an effort to pick up the pace with a rushing touchdown made by #6 Marquis Monroe within 53 yards, going 9-6 now. In the end of the 1st quarter, #89 Nick Lane closes off with PAT, with a score of 9-7.

The 2nd quarter now beginning, Charter Oak keeps on the move as #12 Bishop Turner completes a 67 yard passing touchdown, achieving PAT with a score of 16-7. The match starts to heat up in the 2nd quarter as #2 Richie Munoz from Charter Oak, successfully completes a 55 yard pass to #6 Solomon Davis for a passing touchdown, going 22-7 now. # 2 Jacob Munoz from Ayala makes a rushing touchdown with 55 yards followed by #89 Nick Lane with PAT. 

Halftime has started and the score is 22-14, with Charter Oak dominating the Bulldogs. We now begin the 3rd quarter as Charter Oak kicks off to Ayala. Returning for another rushing touchdown from the Bulldogs, #2 Jacob Munoz makes one at 37 yards bringing up Ayala 22-20. With 4 minutes to go, from the Chargers, #88 Luis Marin kicks a 45 yard field goal raising the score to 25-20. The end of the 3rd quarter arrives and the 4th begins.

Rushing touchdowns are made by #2 Richie Munoz from Charter Oak again with a 20 yard distance made, followed by #88 Luis Marin making PAT. Charter Oak is on the move with a score of 32-20. Jacob Munoz comes back with a 3 yard rushing touchdown raising the score of a final 32-29 by the end of the match. 

Ayala fought hard down to the last minute with a very close comeback however this win goes to Charter Oak as they managed to consecutively keep the pressure on swiftly, and efficiently. It was a rough game but now Ayala will have to look forward to their next away conference game on Friday 10/21 with an Alta Loma varsity team.
