Mens varsity soccer comes up short in first game of the season

In the first matchup of the season for our boys varsity soccer team, they matched up against the Roosevelt Mustangs in a slightly anti-climactic game. This being the first game of the season for both teams, they both understood the importance of getting the season started on the right foot.

The game ended in a 3-1 loss to the Mustangs in what was a scoreless tie through the first half. Although they both kept it close, the Bulldogs hoped they could build off of last season where they posted a 7-5-8 (Win-loss-tie) record while Roosevelt trailed with a 5-8-6 record. This, however, was not the case.

Insufficient data about the game leaves the second half open for interpretation, but there’s not many possible angles to being outscored 3-1 in the half. For the Bulldogs, they’ll have to have a short memory before their next matchup on Saturday against Los Osos.

Roosevelt will turn their eyes to Don Lugo who will play their first game on the 30th against Colony, followed by the aforementioned Mustangs on December 1st. Don Lugo had a 6-8-5 record the season prior, and won only 1 of 10 league matchups.
