Even though all juniors must take the CAASPP test, not everyone takes it seriously despite incentives. “I think that weve tried our best to stress the importance of the test, so hopefully that is coming across within [students] own attitudes towards [the CAASPP], English 10 Honors and AP Language teacher Mrs. Alexis Sjol said.

ASL students perform to a varied audience at the ASL showcase to the song Smooth Criminal By Michael Jackson. The most difficult part of coordinating the showcase for ASL teacher Mrs. Natalie Cooney is coordinating with students for practice. coordinating with the students. I have lots of students who are into a lot of things so one thing thats very difficult is coordinating time to make sure that everyones schedule works together so we can practice for the showcase, Cooney said.

Chloe Wang (12) exhibits leadership and perseverance as she takes on the role of Lieutenant Governor for her Key Club division and officer positions in many different Ayala clubs. Taking on various responsibilities allows Wang to explore her passion for serving her community. Hoping to figure out her next path, her impressive involvement gives her many options before she soon graduates.

Aiden Choe (12) developed pneumothorax during late September which caused him to go on medical leave for the rest of the first semester. While on independent study, Aiden Choe overcame many hardships, yet here he stands today as one of the best of us.

Milena Leonis (12) is president of Ayala Choir. Still, Leonis stays involved in community endeavors such as Chino Community Theatre, arts, and dancing. Im most grateful for Milenas supportiveness and unconditional love for everybody in our program... she interacts with everybody with nothing but love and compassion, said choir director Mr. Davis.

Jessica Rios, Open Canvas Manager, Staff Writer

Jessica Rios (12) is a staff writer and Open Canvas manager for The Bulldog Times, and this is her 1st year on staff. She looks forward to cherishing new friendships and interviewing students on campus regarding topics such as clubs, school events, and entertainment. Additionally, she also hopes to improve her creative writing and photography skills. Moreover, Jessica is currently vice president of the Positive School Culture Club (PSC) and secretary of Womxn In STEM (WiStem). She also enjoys volunteering for Key Club and posting her digital art on Instagram. Outside of school, she indulges in various television shows such as Breaking Bad and Cobra Kai. Furthermore, she considers herself a film enthusiast and also makes bracelets in her free time. Her favorite thing about Ayala is the friendships she has made along the way as well as the overall positive spirit of the school.
