Assistant Principal Ms. Patricia Durham and Ms. Zhijing Fan present the ELAC meeting to the audience to learn about options after high school. The most difficult part of coordinating the showcase for ASL teacher Mrs. Natalie Cooney is coordinating with students for practice. coordinating with the students. I have lots of students who are into a lot of things so one thing thats very difficult is coordinating time to make sure that everyones schedule works together so we can practice for the showcase, Cooney said.

Chloe Wang (12) exhibits leadership and perseverance as she takes on the role of Lieutenant Governor for her Key Club division and officer positions in many different Ayala clubs. Taking on various responsibilities allows Wang to explore her passion for serving her community. Hoping to figure out her next path, her impressive involvement gives her many options before she soon graduates.

Aiden Choe (12) developed pneumothorax during late September which caused him to go on medical leave for the rest of the first semester. While on independent study, Aiden Choe overcame many hardships, yet here he stands today as one of the best of us.

Milena Leonis (12) is president of Ayala Choir. Still, Leonis stays involved in community endeavors such as Chino Community Theatre, arts, and dancing. Wren Bulawin (12) is a first-year staff writer and Open Canvas manager for the Bulldog Times. Having just recently developed their passion in writing, they hope to finally step out of their comfort zone for their final year and become more involved in campus culture through reporting on school events and fellow Bulldogs. As their favorite thing about Ayala is its diverse and accepting culture, they also hope to uplift the diverse voices of students on campus, whether that be promoting talented Bulldogs or fostering a kinder community through their articles. Currently, they serve as the UCC Rep of the Dungeons and Dragons Club. Outside of school, they enjoy playing video games with friends, drawing, writing free-form poems, and creating worlds in their head.

Dream jobs are becoming more unsustainable as living wages and qualifications rise. As a result, todays youth is now tunnel-visioned into thinking the only paths to success are in the medical, engineering, law, or business fields. But just because the road less traveled is not as stable doesnt mean we have to abandon it altogether.

“Dream jobs” are dying. It’s up to us to revive them.
